Coach Joe
Coach Joe has been embedded in the competitive powerlifting community for 12 years. He started this journey as an athlete, and for the past 7 years he’s been dialing in his skills and processes as a coach.
Joe has experience coaching at all skill levels, from complete beginner to elite level lifters, and he is comfortable and confident across that spectrum. His approach is data-driven and science-backed without stripping humanity and empathy from training and competing.
Some accolades from Joe’s team over the years include:
52 USAPL New York State records, both past and current
2023 USAPL Raw Nationals Junior 60kg silver medalist
2024 USAPL Raw Nationals M1 75kg bronze medalist
A host of medals on the state and regional level.
Joe is currently in the final stages of securing his NSCA CSCS certification.
Coach Joe’s approach
My philosophy towards training and coaching is never static - it constantly evolves as new research around strength and conditioning emerges. Combined with years of personal experience, that data continues to inform my north star for coaching - Always science backed and data driven. Always collaborative and adaptive.
One important value has remained the same over the years, and that is my dedication to putting a barbell in anyone’s hands who is interested.
It might sound cliche, but powerlifting, barbell training and coaching has been life changing for me, and I’ve experienced first hand how transformative it can be for others. My focus is not limited to powerlifting - I truly love working with general strength and conditioning clients and guiding them on their training journey.
An athlete’s perspective
When I started training with Joe three years ago, I had no experience with barbell training but wanted to get stronger for other sports. Joe not only helped me build significant strength but also guided me in developing consistent training habits that have stuck with me.
Our sessions are always appropriately challenging, and Joe has a real knack for making hard work enjoyable. Beyond his impressive expertise, I’ve especially benefited from his thoughtful and observant coaching, which has gone beyond just teaching proper movement.
My only regret is not starting with Joe sooner. I’ve been fortunate to work with great coaches, and Joe is truly one of the best. If you’re looking for a trainer who’s knowledgeable, motivating, and adaptable, I can’t recommend him enough.
